ALAN HAMBOOK - Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer
Alan started his first software company in 1981 and since then has founded, built and run a number of successful, multi-national software companies specialising in complex, packaged software products. He co-founded the Dodge Group in 1991, followed by the banking systems and analytics company Aleri Inc in 1998 where he was CEO and Chairman until 2004.
Alan is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Zoral. He is also Chairman of Future Route Limited (www.futureroute.co.uk Inductive Logic Programming and behavioural analytics) and non-executive director of Prevx Limited (www.prevx.com behavioural malware detection) and Packet Exchange Limited (www.packetexchange.net global Ethernet data transmission).
Alan has extensive and successful experience in financing, developing and selling software companies. He also has experience with company acquisitions and leveraged buy outs (LBO) and has an extensive network of contacts in the VC, Banking and analytics (academic and research) communities.
Alan is 51 years old, married with 5 children and lives in the United Kingdom and France.
ERIC SANDLER - President, co-founder, and Chief Technology Officer
Eric Sandler has over 20 years of experience in roles spanning all areas of information technology from senior and middle management, to technology and enterprise data architecture, design, development, and implementation of leading edge commercial packaged software.
He has extensive knowledge of software development, data management, quality assurance and project management methodologies, advanced database architectural concepts, database and operating systems internals, compiler design techniques, as well as a broad and deep knowledge of artificial intelligence, business intelligence tools, ETL tools, and real-time data warehousing environments.
Eric is a graduate of New York University with degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. He is an author of a number of papers in the field of vector processing and distributed, real-time computing. He spent a significant part of his career on Wall St. and has deep expertise in finance focusing on all aspects of enterprise risk management.
He is President and co-founder of Zoral Group, former CTO, co-founder and board member of Aleri inc. (www.aleri.com), non-exec director of Soflow inc, part of technical advisory board of Future Route (www.futureroute.co.uk), and former head of UBS Credit Risk Management.
JULIAN COOMBES – Non-executive director and company secretary.
Julian is a highly experienced Chartered Accountant specialising in the growth and financial management of technology companies. He has held finance directorships with William Baird, WPP, PIPS Technology, DFDS and Ubi Soft Entertainment. He has also held both executive and non-executive directorships in both commercial and financial roles within the technology industry, including Mega Limited and Cable and Wireless. He now specialises in overall financial and corporate governance, financing and M&A activity. Julian is married and lives in the United Kingdom and France.
PHILIPP WINKLER – VP Engineering, California Office.
Phil is an engineering consultant with multidisciplinary technology experience. Phil has worked with a variety of “hi-tech” companies, successfully helping them to rebuild and restructure their engineering processes. Phil has extensive knowledge in rapid development, highly scalable architecture, and web query technology.
Prior to consulting, Phil was a senior Java developer at Famis, Inc where he initiated the development of the next generation product using Service Orientated Architecture and incorporated features to allow a high degree of customization. Before Famis, Phil was the second employee hired at SideStep and played an instrumental role in designing and developing their product technology. At SideStep he contributed innovations to the UI as well as the underlying servers and their architecture. Phil holds a BS in Chemistry from UC San Diego and a MS in Chemistry from Ohio State University.
BRENT STEWART – VP Business Solutions, California Office.
Brent is a seasoned sales and business development executive with a strong background in technology and product management. Brent has spent time at a number of Silicon Valley start-ups, most recently as co-founder of SideStep. As the VP of Sales, he was responsible for implementing the overall advertising and sales strategy, building the advertising sales and operations teams that ultimately accounted for over 50% of SideStep’s total revenue.
Before co-founding SideStep, Brent was the Director of Business Development at PointCast where he oversaw the implementation and management of industry content into the PointCast system. Earlier, Brent opened and managed the West Coast office for Science and Technology Management, Inc - a technology management firm where he was responsible for acquiring and developing new business in the electric power sector. Brent holds a BS in Computer Science from San Jose State University, and a Masters in Information Systems from Golden Gate University.
