The question every bank dreads
A regulator, an auditor or the board asks a simple question. Why was this customer declined? Which data did the decision use? Which version of the credit rules was live that day? Who changed it, and who approved the change?
In most banks the answer is spread across several systems. The application sits in one, the bureau data in another, the decision in a third. Each keeps its own records. Someone has to join them up by hand, and hope nothing is missing.
What Zoral Data Fabric does
Zoral Data Fabric is the memory of the Zoral Finance Operating System (fOS). It records every application, decision and change as it happens, in a banking data model with quality checks built in.
- One record Customer, product, application, collateral, loan, portfolio, channel and partner data sit in one banking data model, from first enquiry to final payment.
- One lineage Every decision can be traced back to the data it used and the source that data came from.
- Quality checks built in Data is checked as it arrives, so gaps and conflicts show up before they reach a decision.
- Ready for your data scientists Your teams build and test models on the same data the decisions use.
Why it sits at the centre
Zoral fOS has one centre. Zoral Data Fabric remembers every application, decision and change. Zoral Decision Engine makes every decision. The Business Outcomes Layer measures every result against plan. Around that centre, the other components do the work. Every Zoral solution reaches out from it into a product or a channel, and draws on the same data, rules and measurement. So each new product costs less to launch, and starts smarter, than the last.
Because every product writes to the same record, the second product starts with what the first one learnt. A single-product system cannot use the data a multi-product bank already has.
Control and evidence
Personal data is masked field by field. Access is set by role, and every data action is recorded. Every change to data, rules and models is versioned. These controls are designed to support GDPR / UK GDPR obligations. Your data and audit history stay yours, and can be exported in standard formats.
Keep your own where you need to
Already have a data lake? Zoral Data Fabric connects to Databricks or Google Cloud BigQuery. Your BI tools can read from it. One point to weigh: lineage and traceability break at the boundary between separate tools. Work done inside Zoral fOS keeps one lineage, one audit trail and one set of data-quality checks.
Zoral Data Fabric sits at the centre. It works most closely with Zoral Decision Engine, the Business Outcomes Layer and Zoral Integration Gateway.
