Credit cards

Launch card programmes sooner, with limits you can defend.

Card launches take too long. Every co-brand partner wants its own journey and pricing. The regulator may later question any limit you set. The Zoral Finance Operating System (fOS) runs the credit side of your card business alongside your existing processor. It covers application, affordability, limits, pricing, servicing and collections. It follows your policy and records every decision.

Every stage of the card lifecycle, decided on your policy.

Many issuers run applications in one system, limits in spreadsheets, servicing at the processor and collections in another tool. So every programme change becomes a change request. Zoral fOS keeps product rules, credit decisions and customer journeys on one platform, connected to your processor and core. Your teams can change programmes without code, with each change approved. Zoral fOS is the platform behind a digital credit card programme. References are available in confidence.

Applications customers finish

Customers check their eligibility first, without affecting their credit score, and see an indicative limit and rate before they commit. Journeys work on phone and web, in your brand or a co-brand partner’s. Customers can switch device and continue where they left off. The journey is designed so fewer applicants give up halfway.

Questions card issuers ask us

Is Zoral a card processor?

No. Zoral covers origination, credit decisions, limits, servicing and collections, and connects to your card processor through documented interfaces. Your processor continues to issue cards, authorise transactions and manage scheme connections. You keep your processor relationship. Fewer programme changes have to wait for a processor change request.

How does the eligibility check work without affecting the customer’s credit score?

Before applying, the customer agrees to a soft search, which is not visible to other lenders and does not affect their credit score. Your policy uses it to show whether they are likely to be accepted, with an indicative limit and rate. The full credit check runs only when the customer chooses to apply, with their consent recorded.

How does Zoral support Consumer Duty and affordability rules?

We have worked with clients regulated by the FCA in the UK, the CFPB in the US and the central banks of Malaysia and Thailand. Zoral applies your affordability policy to verified data and keeps the reasons for every decision and limit. It also helps you monitor outcomes by customer segment, spot customers who may be vulnerable and identify persistent debt. Your obligations remain yours. Zoral gives you the controls and the evidence to show how you meet them.

Can we test a new limit or pricing strategy before committing to it?

Yes. A new strategy can first be run against past applications to see how approvals, limits and expected losses would have changed. It can then run as a challenger on a share of new applications, next to your current strategy, with results compared side by side. Your credit committee decides which strategy goes forward.

Can we run several co-brand programmes on one platform?

Yes. Each partner programme can have its own branded journey, eligibility rules, pricing and limits, built as variants of products you have already approved. Results are reported per programme, and your credit policy remains the common base.

What happens when an application needs a human decision?

Your policy decides which applications go to manual review and why, for example when declared and verified income do not match. The case reaches a named reviewer in a work queue with the evidence and the reason attached, and the decision is recorded with comments. Other applications proceed automatically under your rules.

How soon can an approved customer use their card?

Once the customer is approved and has signed the agreement, Zoral asks your processor to create the virtual card. The customer can use it straight away where your processor and mobile wallet set-up allow. The physical card is ordered in the same step.

How are credit limit increases handled?

Your policy proposes increases based on account behaviour and a fresh affordability check. The customer’s preferences about increases are respected. Decreases and holds follow the same approved rules. Every change is recorded with its reason, so you can show why a limit moved.

How quickly can we launch a card programme?

It depends on the programme, your processor and data connections, and how quickly your credit, compliance and partner teams approve the design. We suggest starting with one programme, or one improvement such as the application journey, and adding more in regular releases. We give a realistic plan after a short scoping discussion, not before.

How do you use AI, and who is accountable for decisions?

Machine-learning models can support your scorecards, limits and early-warning signals, under your model governance. Each model gives the reasons behind its result. We also use AI for Zoral to help our experts and your teams design, check and test journeys and rules faster. AI assists, and people approve. Where language models are used, you choose them. They range from enterprise model services to open-weight models your team tunes and hosts, and connect to Zoral fOS through a standard interface (MCP). Client data stays under your governance, within the environments and agreements you control. Credit decisions follow rules you approve.

Where does Zoral run, and how is card data protected?

On AWS or Azure in your chosen region, or in your own data centre. Zoral connects to your processor, core, credit bureaus and open banking provider through documented interfaces. The platform is designed for high availability. Full card numbers stay with your processor. Zoral works with card references. Zoral Document Fabric, which reads your documents, runs in your own AWS or Azure account, or your private cloud, in your region and under your control. Our controls are independently audited under SOC 2, with details on the Zoral Trust Portal. Architecture documentation is available under a confidentiality agreement.

Who runs the platform day to day?

You choose. Zoral can run and support the platform for you, your own technology team can run it, or we share the work and hand over as your team grows. Your people run the card operations, using the work queues and controls in the platform.

What if we change processor, or provider, in future?

Because Zoral connects to your processor through documented interfaces, your credit policy, decisions and customer journeys are reconnected to a new processor rather than rebuilt. Your data, product definitions and audit history remain yours and can be exported in standard formats. Zoral is an independent specialist founded in 2004, and our platform is our own.

Who implements it?

Atelier, Zoral’s consulting and implementation team, works with your teams and, where you choose, with your advisers and systems integrators. The same team can work with your credit team to tune limits, pricing, retention and collections for the card portfolio.

Choose the programme. Prove it on your own book.

Bring us the card programme you want to launch or improve. It may be a new co-brand, an application journey that loses too many customers, or limit and collections strategies under review. A senior Zoral specialist will help you choose the first step and show what your credit committee and compliance team would see.
