Digital banking
Give customers the bank they expect, without rebuilding the bank you have.
Digital customers compare you with the best app on their phone, and leave when it gets hard. Many digital banks use separate vendors for the core, the app, origination and credit decisions, joined by manual work. Zoral runs the whole lifecycle on one platform. Use it in full for a new bank or brand, or alongside your core.
A digital bank is only as good as what runs behind the app.
In many digital banks and new brands, accounts sit on one vendor’s core, the app comes from a second, and origination and credit decisions from a third. Manual work fills the gaps. Each new product or brand adds integration work, manual checks and more controls the bank must evidence. Customers notice the seams when they are asked the same question twice or left waiting. The Zoral Finance Operating System (fOS) puts customer journeys, products, decisions and operations on one platform, with a single history of what happened and why.
Launch new brands and products without disturbing the bank you run.
Several brands, one platform
From one platform, run a digital bank, a spin-off brand or a partner proposition, such as finance under a retailer’s or an airline’s name. Each brand can keep its own products, pricing, customer journeys and customer data.
Works around your existing core
For most banks, Zoral keeps product and account detail in its own sub-ledger and posts to your core at general-ledger level. You add and extend products around the core through documented interfaces, instead of replacing it.
A complete platform for a new bank
Holding a new digital banking licence? Zoral can be your system of record, with Zoral Product Factory as the product and account ledger. It can supply the rest: customer journeys, onboarding, products, decisions, documents, servicing and collections.
Built to stay available as you grow
Zoral is designed for high availability and grows with your customer base. It runs on AWS or Azure in your chosen region, or in your own data centre where residency rules require it.
Separate controls for each brand
Each brand can have its own credit policy, approvals, user access and audit history, so risk and compliance teams see each brand’s rules. Our controls are independently audited under SOC 2, with details on the Zoral Trust Portal.
Start where your strategy starts: a new bank, a new brand, or better channels.
Banks come to Zoral from different starting points. The platform is the same. What changes is how much you use and which systems it runs beside.
A new digital bank
- The complete platform, from customer journeys to the product and account ledger
- Accounts, cards and lending in the first release, or added in regular releases
- Credit decisions, documents, servicing and collections included
- Islamic products alongside conventional ones, if your licence covers both
A new brand or spin-off
- Launch beside the parent bank, posting to its core and general ledger
- Separate products, pricing and customer journeys for each brand
- Partner and white-label propositions on the same platform
- Group policies applied, with separate records for each brand
Modernising your digital channels
- Leave your core and current app in place
- Add products and journeys your current systems struggle to support
- Replace manual back-office steps with work queues and automated checks
- Retire legacy steps gradually, not in one risky switch-over
Grow in funded stages, with risk in plain sight.
Zoral fOS gives the board one vendor to hold to account, from the first customer journey to the last collections call. We have built and launched the complete platform for a Shariah-compliant digital bank, as well as multi-product loan origination (LOS), credit decisioning and robo-underwriting systems. References are available in confidence.
For the CEO and CFO: launch in steps you can fund
Start with one product or one brand. Each one must show results against plan to earn its next round of funding. Later launches build on the platform, data and controls you already have.
For the COO: fewer hand-offs as volumes grow
One place holds work queues, service levels and exceptions for every brand and product. Checks once done by hand are automated where your policy allows. The rest go to the right team.
For the CRO: decisions you can stand behind
Credit policy, scorecards, limits and pricing are versioned, tested on past applications and approved before release. Each decision keeps its reasons, so you can explain it to a customer or supervisor long after.
For Compliance and Technology: evidence and portability
Auditors see a full history of approvals, changes and decisions. Architects get documented interfaces and a high-availability design. Data and product definitions remain yours, held in the region you choose.
Less friction for customers, fewer hand-offs for your teams
Customers see the app. Whether they stay depends on what sits behind it: how quickly a decision arrives, whether they are asked twice for the same document, and how a problem is handled.
Journeys customers finish
Customers compare every step with the best app they use. Zoral Portal Studio lets you configure web and mobile journeys in your brand, for customers, staff and partners, without custom code. A customer can start on a phone and finish with an adviser without re-entering anything, and can see where the application stands.

Banking and finance products, ready to configure for your bank
Each product starts from a working configuration on the same platform, with product rules, workflows, journeys, decision logic and data fields. It is then adapted to your policy, market and brand. Islamic versions are available for Shariah-compliant banks, and for Islamic subsidiaries and windows, on the structures your Shariah board approves.
Current accounts, savings and deposits
Product rules handle current and savings accounts, fixed-term deposits, tiered rates, interest calculation and overdrafts. Account opening includes identity checks and onboarding in your brand.
Personal finance and credit lines
Offer personal loans and revolving credit with bureau and open banking checks. Income and affordability are verified from documents. Your risk policy sets pricing and limits.
Buy now, pay later
Instalment credit at the point of sale and at online checkout, with quick eligibility checks, fraud screening and repayment plans customers can follow in your app.
Credit cards
Eligibility checks for card applications need not affect the customer’s credit file, where the market allows. Test limit and pricing strategies against each other. Credit agreements and card issue through your processor are included.
Device financing
Phone and device finance at retail and online checkout or through mobile operators, with underwriting that can use alternative data where permitted, and servicing to the final payment.
Auto finance
Direct and dealer-introduced car and motorcycle finance and leasing: dealer portals, document checks, vehicle valuation, title tracking, contracts and dealer payments, connected to the dealer platforms and online car marketplaces used in your market.
Mortgage and home finance
Mortgage and home finance offers are based on checked income and assets. Documents are read and reconciled for the underwriter. Valuation and conditions are tracked. After completion, the same platform services the loan.
SME finance
Term finance, working capital and merchant credit, with open banking and bank statement analysis, financial spreading, guarantor and collateral checks, and a credit memo prepared for the approver.
Questions banks ask before launching a digital bank or brand
Can we keep our current core and our app?
Yes. Zoral runs product accounts, including deposits, on an account-level sub-ledger. It posts to your general ledger and is reconciled with it. You can then add or extend products your core finds hard to support. Your app can call Zoral for onboarding, decisions and servicing, or Zoral can provide new journeys beside it. You decide what stays, and when anything retires.
We hold a new digital banking licence. Could Zoral be our whole platform?
Yes. Zoral can be your system of record, with Zoral Product Factory as the product and account ledger. It can supply customer journeys, onboarding, products, decisions, documents, servicing and collections around it, including Islamic products if your licence covers them. We have built and launched the complete platform for a Shariah-compliant digital bank. You choose which products go into the first release.
Can we run several brands, or partner propositions, on one platform?
Yes. Each brand or partner proposition can have its own products, pricing, credit policy, customer journeys and look. Its customer data and user access can also be kept separate. For example, a bank might offer finance under a retailer’s or an airline’s name, with its own rules and approvals behind it. You decide what each brand shares and what it keeps to itself.
Why not combine a cloud core, an app platform and a separate lending system?
That is a valid route, and many banks take it. The work and risk sit where systems meet. You manage several contracts, roadmaps and data models. Controls are split across systems that each see part of the customer. Zoral covers the lifecycle on one platform with one record, including credit decisions and collections. It can still run beside a core or app you prefer to keep. You choose the mix.
Will our customers get an experience that stands up to the best digital banks?
Customer journeys are built in Zoral Portal Studio to your brand and design standards, and changed by configuration as you learn how customers behave. Because identity, income and affordability are checked at source, customers are asked for less. If you already have an app you are happy with, Zoral can work behind it instead. Your designers and product owners decide what customers see.
Who changes products and credit policy after launch, and how is that controlled?
Your product and risk teams do, under the controls you set. Product rules and credit policy are configured rather than coded. Each change becomes a new version that is tested, approved under your maker-checker rules and released when you choose. Earlier versions stay on record, so you can show what applied to any customer at any point.
What will our regulator expect, and how does Zoral help?
We have worked with clients regulated by the FCA in the UK, the CFPB in the US and the central banks of Malaysia and Thailand, and we build with supervisors’ expectations in mind. The platform helps you track customer outcomes, identify and support customers in vulnerable circumstances, hold data where your rules require, and prepare operational resilience and exit plans, including where DORA applies. Accountability stays with the bank. Zoral supplies the controls and records that evidence it.
How long until we are live?
It depends on three things: what goes into the first release, how many systems Zoral connects to, and how fast decisions are taken inside the bank. Our advice is to start with one product or one brand, then add more in regular releases. You get a realistic plan after we scope the work with you, not before.
Where does AI come in, and who answers for a credit decision?
Our specialists and your teams use AI for Zoral to build, review and test products, journeys and workflows more quickly. It assists. People approve. AI agents, configured to your policies and workflows, can also work inside the screens your customers, staff and business users already use. Each has its own instructions, guardrails, budget and approval steps. They act only through the permissions, workflows and approvals you set. Every prompt, tool call and answer is traced for review. You choose the language models, from enterprise model services to open-weight models hosted in your own environment. Your knowledge bases, conversation records and client data stay under your governance, within the environments and agreements you control. Agents do not make credit decisions. Credit decisions follow the rules and models your bank has approved, and each one is recorded with its reasons, so you can explain it to a customer, an auditor or a supervisor.
Where is Zoral hosted, and what does it connect to?
On AWS or Azure in the region you choose, or in your own data centre, to fit local data residency rules. Zoral Document Fabric, which reads your documents, runs in your own AWS or Azure account, or your private cloud, in your region and under your control. Zoral connects to cores, card processors, payment schemes, credit bureaus, eKYC and open banking providers through documented interfaces and is designed for high availability. Our controls are independently audited under SOC 2, with details on the Zoral Trust Portal, and architecture documentation is available under a confidentiality agreement.
Can our own AI agents work with Zoral, and how do we keep them under control?
Yes. Your agents connect to Zoral fOS through a standard interface (MCP) and can read data, run decisions or start workflows only within the permissions you grant. Guardrails, budgets and human approval steps are set per agent, and every action is traced for review. Business analysts, product and risk managers can also configure Zoral with an AI assistant. Their changes still go through versioning and your maker-checker approval.
Who operates the platform day to day, and what if we later move to another provider?
You choose who runs it. Zoral can run and support the platform for you, your own technology team can run it, or we share the work and hand over as your team grows. Your people run the banking operations, with the work queues and controls the platform provides. Your data, product definitions and audit history remain the bank’s and can be exported in standard formats. That gives your exit plan something concrete to rest on.
Is Zoral independent, and are you tied to any core vendor?
Yes. Zoral is an independent specialist, founded in 2004, with over 100 projects delivered. We built and own the platform. We are not tied to any core vendor. We work with the core, app and data providers you choose, alongside your advisers and systems integrators. We also have a long-standing relationship with KPMG.
Who implements it?
Atelier, Zoral’s consulting and implementation team, works with your teams and, where you choose, with your advisers and systems integrators. The same team can help you design products that give customers a reason to switch, and set the strategy behind your digital bank.
Plan the whole bank. Launch with one product.
Whether you are launching a digital bank, adding a brand or modernising the channels you have, a senior Zoral specialist will work through your target model with you. Together you pick the first product to prove the case. You also see the evidence your board and regulator would review along the way.
