Islamic digital banking
Grow Islamic banking without rebuilding the bank.
Demand for Shariah-compliant banking is growing faster than the systems behind it. New products wait months for change requests and board approval. Home finance still runs on documents and manual checks. Zoral runs the full lifecycle, from first contact to final payment, on one platform, using the contract structures your Shariah board approves, alongside the systems you already own.
Islamic banking can only grow as fast as its systems can adapt.
Islamic banks, subsidiaries and windows usually grow by adding systems: a core for accounts, an app from one vendor, origination from another, and spreadsheets in between. Each new product means more change requests, more manual checks and more evidence for the Shariah board. Customers feel it too, in paperwork and waiting they don’t face elsewhere. Costs and risk rise with every product. The Zoral Finance Operating System (fOS) brings it all onto one platform, so customers get banking as simple as the best digital banks, without compromising their principles.
Adaptable Islamic products, configured for your bank
Built on the contract structures your Shariah board approves, such as Wakala, Mudaraba, Murabaha, Tawarruq, Diminishing Musharaka, Ijara or Istisna. Islamic and conventional products can run side by side for banks with an Islamic subsidiary or window. We also work with Takaful providers.
Savings and deposits
Savings and fixed-term accounts run on product rules, without manual work. The rules handle expected profit rates, profit-sharing pools, profit calculation and distribution, maturity and early closure. Customers also get the account information they need to work out their Zakat.
Home finance
Home purchase plans, home financing and buy-to-let, through your own channels and the brokers you work with. Each application runs from a decision in principle based on verified income and assets, through valuation and conditions, to completion and servicing.
Personal finance and cards
Personal finance, cash-line (overdraft) facilities, cards and point-of-sale instalments, including the commodity trade steps behind Tawarruq. Your policy sets eligibility, affordability and pricing.
SME finance
Financing for small and medium businesses. Document-heavy applications are read, checked and routed to the right credit approver.

Your leadership priorities, delivered predictably.
With Zoral fOS, business and technology teams work with one vendor on the same platform, end to end. Decisions turn into products in the market faster, with fewer surprises and risk under control. We have done this in full, building and launching the complete platform for a Shariah-compliant digital bank in South-East Asia. References are available in confidence.
For the CEO and CFO: growth you can stage
Enter or expand in Islamic banking one product at a time. Each step proves itself before the next is funded. Each new product reuses what is already in place.
For the COO and CRO: control of the operation
You get fewer manual checks and clearer work queues. You can explain credit decisions to a regulator months later, with the evidence behind them.
For Compliance and Technology: transparent records, portable data
Auditors and your Shariah board get a complete record of approvals and changes. Your data and product definitions remain yours, in your chosen region.
Questions Islamic banks ask us
Does Zoral certify our products as Shariah-compliant?
No, and no technology provider should. Your Shariah board, committee or adviser remains the authority. Zoral gives the board what it needs to decide: the product rules in readable form, every version and change, test results, and a record of who approved what and when.
We already have a core banking system and a mobile app. Do we have to replace them?
No. Zoral works alongside your existing core and channels, so your past investment keeps working. Banks often start by adding Islamic products or a home finance operation next to what they already run.
We are launching a new Islamic bank. Can Zoral provide the complete platform?
Yes. Zoral can provide everything from customer journeys and onboarding to products, decisions, servicing and collections. This is how we built and launched the complete platform for a Shariah-compliant digital bank in South-East Asia.
Can we run Islamic and conventional products side by side?
Yes. Banks with an Islamic subsidiary or window can run both on the same platform, with the products, rules and reporting kept separate.
What will our customers notice?
Applying is simple on a phone or online, without branch visits. Income and assets are verified at source, so customers are not asked for the same documents twice. A decision in principle rests on verified data rather than estimates. Customers can see where their application stands at every step, and so can your staff.
How do product changes get through Shariah and risk approval?
Every change is made as a new product version, tested against simulated account activity and sent for approval before release. Your board and risk team review the change and its results together, rather than piecing them together from emails and spreadsheets.
How does Zoral support our regulatory obligations?
We have worked with clients regulated by the FCA in the UK, the CFPB in the US and the central banks of Malaysia and Thailand. We design for what supervisors expect. Zoral helps you monitor customer outcomes, identify and support vulnerable customers, record and report Shariah non-compliance events, keep data in your chosen region, and plan for operational resilience and exit. Your obligations remain yours. Zoral gives you the controls and evidence to meet them.
How quickly can we launch?
It depends on the product, your integrations and how quickly decisions can be made on your side. We recommend starting with one product and adding more in regular releases. Products are configured rather than coded, and each new product reuses the data, checks, journeys and approvals already in place, so each product after the first is quicker to launch. We give a realistic plan after a short scoping discussion, not before.
How do you use AI, and who is accountable for decisions?
We use AI for Zoral to help our experts and your teams design, check and test products and workflows faster. AI assists. People approve. AI agents do not make credit decisions. Automated credit decisions follow rules your bank approves, and accountability stays with your bank. Shariah rulings stay with your board. Every decision is recorded with the reasons behind it.
Where does Zoral run, and how does it connect?
In your chosen cloud region on AWS or Azure, or in your own data centre, to suit local data residency rules. Banks that operate in several countries, for example across Europe, can run each country’s product variants, documents, rules and reporting on the same platform. Zoral Document Fabric, which reads your documents, runs in your own AWS or Azure account, or your private cloud, in your region and under your control. Zoral connects to your core, channels and data providers through documented interfaces, and is designed for high availability. Our controls are independently audited under SOC 2, with details on the Zoral Trust Portal. Architecture documentation is available under a confidentiality agreement.
Who runs the platform day to day?
You choose. Zoral can run and support the platform for you, your own technology team can run it, or we share the work and hand over as your team grows. Your people run the banking operations, using the work queues and controls built into the platform.
What if we want to change provider in future?
Your data, product definitions and audit history remain yours and can be exported in standard formats.
Is your technology tied to another bank or to a single core vendor?
No. Zoral is an independent specialist, founded in 2004, and our platform is our own. We work alongside your chosen advisers and systems integrators, and we have a long-standing relationship with KPMG.
Who implements it?
Atelier, Zoral’s consulting and implementation team, works with your teams and, where you choose, with your Shariah advisers and systems integrators. Its Islamic banking implementation practice turns the structures your board approves into products. It connects them to your core and prepares the evidence your board reviews.
